| After examining the nominee list for the 2006 Podcast Awards I came to the conclusion that despite what must easily be thousands of hours of podcast listening, I have no idea what a good podcast is. On this entire list, the only one I actually subscribe to is Jay and Jack's Lost podcast. On the gaming list I have only "heard of" one of the listed nominees, Dreamstation.cc, which seems ok, but I still only managed to carve out enough dedication to listen to one episode of that show so far. Keith and the Girl is on the list of course. I tried to figure out what was so great about that show, but it escaped me. It is probably one of those things that one would need to listen to from the beginning to be in on the 'in' jokes. And so, when I release my next quarterly gaming podcast review article... you might want to doubt me at least a little. |

Of the nominees, I only listen to five, and only recognize maybe eight more. (Several of which I don't listen to for a reason.) But I'm with Scott: the whole thing is really kind of pointless, which is part of what makes podcasting so awesome.

Ah yes, Scott spoke my mind quite well. Now I'm going to have to listen to his podcast...
I do have a correction to make. I noticed that Security Now is on the list. I do subscribe to that one as well, but I don't listen to it often. I queue up about a dozen of them until I'm in a security mood and then I do 'em all in a row or something.
