'XBOX owners' by Judgegall Submitted on 2008-07-24 15:39:45 CST hey brent,
About your comment that xbox owners do not like to pay extra money for their games.....check the publishers of rockband and Guitar Hero for their opinion of this. If they are willing to pay the outlandish amounts for the extra songs, i bet they do not flinch at cost of a subscripion if it is for a good game.
Also, 90% of the console owners I know also play an mmo on a computer.
that stat might be a little skewed because i am an older then average gamer.

'Xbox' by animagnum Submitted on 2008-07-24 16:07:23 CST @Judgegall Sure, I imagine Xbox owners -- in general -- probably do not have a problem with paying for additional content in games like Rock Band or Guitar Hero, but subscriptions are a different animal. Much of the problem with this lies in the fact that an Xbox Live gold subscription already costs $50, so in effect players would be paying for two recurring services. I do agree, however, that most gamers would not flinch to pay for it. Any person the least bit familiar with MMOs would more than likely expect a subscription fee.
I doubt it will ever happen, but it would be nice if Microsoft offered some sort of "Platinum" subscription that would give players access to the current/upcoming Xbox 360 MMOs as a part of their regular subscription fee -- something like SOE's Station Access system. I imagine it would be very expensive, but rolling features like that into one annual payment with a slight discount would be somewhat appealing.
'XBL fees' by Talyn Submitted on 2008-07-25 09:16:31 CST I've written several times that I feel the XBL Membership levels is going to come under fire and be an issue once some "real" MMO's start arriving on that console.
Note, however, that only a Silver (free) membership is required for MMOGs since gamers are connecting to the MMO servers rather than using the Xbox Live matchmaking servers that Gold members are paying for.
'Thx!' by animagnum Submitted on 2008-07-25 10:32:15 CST Thanks for the clarification, Talyn!
'Question: Songs...' by Nameth Submitted on 2008-07-30 08:00:08 CST Hey,
just dropped in from the Yivvits and Mr.Bubble podcast. (www.swgpodcast.com) And I just a quick simple question. What are the last two songs ? The ones just before and after wrapping up the show...
Would be happy if you could let me know. Thanks.
'songs' by Brent Submitted on 2008-08-02 15:34:49 CST Right before the end... Sevendust, Track 4, Terminator? off their first disc.
Outro song ... The only song ever released from 'supergroup' The Damning Well. Here's the wikipedia entry:
---
The Damning Well was a rock supergroup comprising Wes Borland (of Limp Bizkit) on guitar, Danny Lohner (formerly of Nine Inch Nails) on bass, Richard Patrick (of Filter and Army of Anyone) on vocals, and Josh Freese (of A Perfect Circle, Suicidal Tendencies, The Vandals, and Guns N' Roses) on drums. The group has only released one song, "Awakening", on the Underworld movie soundtrack in 2003, even though an album's worth of material was apparently recorded with producer Terry Date.
Borland, Freese, and Lohner also created another band, Black Light Burns. It is often considered to be a spiritual successor to The Damning Well and contains bit and pieces of their work
'Thanks' by Nameth Submitted on 2008-08-04 02:36:00 CST Thanks Brent. Will have an eye out for them. ;o)
(I think I even have the first Sevendust laying around somewhere..... Maybe it's time to look for it.... considering it's a friends disc *g*)
