VirginWorlds Podcast #91.1Tue, 30 Oct 2007 03:54:00 GMT [download/play]
A VirginWorlds MMORPG news minicast? That's right - it is a bite sized chunk of news and you'll be getting them all week.
Why? Because it might be fun.
Today's MMORPG news topics include:
-Bethesda and ZeniMax find some money in the couch cushions -Dreamlords goes back into development -The making of MMOvie -UO gets slightly trampled
'Cool Idea!' by randomtime Submitted on 2007-10-30 02:45:18 CST Nice, but can you find time to do it everyday?
'Today's podcast?' by Kami Submitted on 2007-10-30 03:56:25 CST TL, DR :D
I love this idea, in true internet fashion i wish you GL HF. I can't see you doing it more than once, it sounds like hell.
Seriously though, liked what i heard.
'That is some commitment' by Inde Submitted on 2007-10-30 12:21:42 CST I am happy if you happy but think you are asking a lot of yourself. On a secondary note I like the longer podacast as the total normally covers my journey time into and out the office - I can drive fast (got a certificate from a nice policemen once confirming this ) but not that fast for the 10 mins this podcast took :)
'either's fine' by hallower Submitted on 2007-10-30 14:27:14 CST Short, long, I don't care. Whatever works best for you.
Dreamlords... yet another game marked for me to try sometime.
The talk about the Zenimax contribution made me think back to what Craig said about companies borrowing too much money on the last SUWT episode. Could so much money actually be a burden? Could it lead ZeniMax/Bethesda down a dangerous road of over-reaching?
'Much better this way' by Lumio Submitted on 2007-10-30 16:58:53 CST I like it much better this way rather than have a huge long segment once a week. I really like having a bunch of minicasts when it comes to news.
Please keep it this way!
'MMOvie?' by James Submitted on 2007-10-30 19:06:06 CST I wonder what legal/copyright issues these folks and future "MMOvie" creators will face? Most of the machinima we've seen thus far has pretty much been the equivalent of fan fiction. But creating a for-profit movie with avatars who are technically owned by the company who runs the game could have some sticky ramifications. I've seen some really inventive, imaginative machinima over the past few years and I'm sure it's only a matter of time before the Blizzards, SOEs, and EAs of this world want their piece of the pie once these things become for-profit endeavors.
'Long/Short' by Akely Submitted on 2007-10-31 03:58:44 CST Although I prefer them long (, said the girl,) this works for me too. Whatever floats your boat, Brent.
I was very happy to hear about the MMOvie. Some of the stuff I've seen done in this style is freakin awesome and totally impressive. I'd PayPal I buck or three for it, as Appretiation Money at least.
