The Addicted Gamer #17
Fri, 22 Aug 2008 04:21:00 GMT [download/play]

I interviewed Rae from the Epic Dolls Podcast for this episode.  She was a great guest and you have to listen to all the great stuff we talked about.

I spent the last week in Massachusetts.  It was a sudden business trip and I had a great time.  While there I met some people on both sides of the MMO addiction.  A player and an ex Girlfriend of another player.  After spending some time with both of these people I made a decision to cut back on my own play time.  I call it trading Flesh for Fantasy.  Guess you can say there was too much Billy Idol playing at the time.

My audio issues are all but corrected but yet again I made enough progress to get out this episode.  Help will be coming in September.  I decided on the replacement I'll be getting and Brent from Virginworlds is throwing some help my way too  This is one of those perks we get if you donate.  SO DONATE!  It helps us continue to put out quality episodes.

Remember ti head over to iTunes and leave a review for the podcast.  We have 10 in the US and about that many in the rest of the stores.  Thanks for all of you that took the time.  I very much appreciate it.

I'd like to get back to a steady recording schedule.  I'll be looking into creating a Calendar I can publish so those of you that want to be on the show can see how far out I am recording.  Please send all requests to be on the show to and put guest in the subject field.

Hi Peter,
I remember an episode a while back where you were talking with your daughter about playing WOW. My daughter and I have been playing Wizard 101 but no WOW yet. She has played WOW in the past just for a few minutes while I monitored and is begging to play with me. I finally got my wife to say she would try it but I feel bad about leaving my daughter out of the fun.

I personally don't see WOW as problem for kids to play - as long as chat is not enabled.

I was wondering if your daughter is playing and what you did to ensure chat is safe for her. There doesn't seem to be much in the way of parental controls for WOW. Are you and your kids playing any other MMO's that are fun for the family?

I will always love to hear gamers interviewed

What can I say?

Gamers are cool and interesting; it is great to hear about their thoughts and stuff, and fun to hear about what they think about games.

Great show as usual.
