'You two are the greatest!' by telstar Submitted on 2008-11-30 06:55:59 CST I love the fact that you two are casting together. Two of my favorite casts like merged into one. I get my Epic Dolls and VoV fix all in one. It doesn't really matter what game you both talking about, your discussion is fun, smart, and always something I am interested in. I am glad to see you are talking about various games.
Because Beau is a musician I wondered if you would ever consider covering the topic of games taking time away from other passions such as your music. How to balance your time. I am sitting in front of a massive amount of awesome musical equipment and I can't seem to motivate myself to break away from the gaming to play music. I quit smoking about 4 years ago and WOW became my next addiction. I really haven't done anything for myself musically since. I keep buying new equipment but the games have this crazy hold over me.
Anyway it would be an interesting topic since you are broadening your horizons with the new podcast.
Love the show and I thought it was cool that you used Moldy Peaches for this episode - song just makes me love the cast even more.
Keep on keepin' on :)
'Server divides!' by shuttler Submitted on 2008-11-30 08:14:39 CST Glad your trying CoH again, should get interesting with the mission maker soon too!
I haven't listened to this episode yet, but wanted to write this before I forget...
We already established in CoH we cant play on the same server because of the Eu/US split we see in so many games recently. The VanHemlock Podcast did a great show on these 'barriers' recently.
I just wondered what you felt about server splits and the like, maybe a good topic one day.
Anyway time for tea and crumpets!

'Good times' by FarSpace Submitted on 2008-11-30 08:29:48 CST Well said Telstar, I totaly agree with you, I could not aree more.
I'm so excited about you checking out CoX, personaly I'm getting into it allot better then I did last time I played, I have to hold my self back from talking about it because I'll go on and on and not even make sense to my self lol.
I got into crafting and it is really something I have fun with and the auction house, and someone asked me to do the Terra Volta Trial and we were so awesome, it only took us an hour and I got a respec token, although I can't think of how I would want to change my Heroes powers around, I'll keep it untill later I might need it.
Also I got my capes a buch of wings you get from crafting and those things that give you glowing eyes and body/fist/hatever smokey etc... I caan't describe it very well.
I'm keeping to one character this time around mostly because I have been getting into all the different thing you can do at different levels this time. if I want to go up some levels I will get into a team for while but I do read and get into the stories, much more interesting this time for me, been playing for 3 months this time and got a L34, I think I can play ing the crash site now and do the war going on in there. I got my 1st PvP kill eer in bloody bay, I'm so proud, and I even saved someone else from when they were getting attacked and almost bit the dust but I came in and kapow! I saved the day :)
'I'm a drummer, not a musician! lol I keed I keed..' by Beauturkey Submitted on 2008-11-30 14:12:04 CST That was one of the 100 drummer jokes I got from the road.
As far as balancing time, I have no issues with it really. My band plays shows and practices and that is such a habit that I don't even notice it you know?
As a creative person I can tell you that you'll need to create something or you might start feeling down bout it. Leala works a lot more than me, and her job is creative, so she gets a lot of that out of her system at work. Thats why I love blogs/making machinima/podcasting because it is creating something. Also, art always helps! This sounds silly, but try making a song about WoW (or whatever game) and putting it on youtube. Some of those songs are freakin awesome and they get attention, and it's still part of the creative process! :)
Server splits? Ohhhh boy. I have always had like 400 theories about server traffic and crossover. I couldn't believe that I couldn't just play with you in a virtual world because of these server issues, yet I can log onto a messenger and talk to someone in japan! lol
Next week I'll talk more bout the actual gameplay of CoH, and I think I might talk about how I am *gasp* enjoying the hero side more than I ever did the evil side. Damn, I'm becoming a wuss.
Thanks for the comments guys!

'Enjoying the new format' by Delph Submitted on 2008-11-30 23:35:45 CST Hi Beau and Leala. I just wanted to say how much I am enjoying your new format. You two have great chemistry together. I also wanted to say that I will continue sponsoring the podcast whatever you call it. Last I have tw suggestions for the new name.
Virtual Voyages with Turkeys
Beau and Leala's Vitual Voyages
I know they are both kind of lame so I won't be hurt if you don't use them. Keep up the good work.
Delph
PS: If this was a type 7 post it would read:
Hi Beala. I want too much enjoyment your great chemistry. Together I continue whatever you call it. Last, Virtual Turkeys.
'Thnaks guys!' by Beauturkey Submitted on 2008-12-01 02:57:56 CST Cool so many cool suggestions. I am not sure why, but this has been really hard to come up with a title! lol
Me and Leala will talk about it.
And thanks SO much for the sponsor! :)
'Thanks' by LealaTurkey Submitted on 2008-12-01 03:12:11 CST Thanks for your support everyone. Its really fun getting to co-host and not have to do any of the work. haha Its kind of funny tho because it seems so much less like a "podcast" and more just like a slice of the everyday conversations here in Turkey-ville.
Great suggestions for names!
'Beau and Leala...Thank You....' by Blamefulgecko Submitted on 2008-12-01 05:50:42 CST Okay guys so I've thought about this for a bit....and you guys lull me into a sense of friendship that makes me want to MMO stalk you throughout your various gaming adventures!
I've chatted with Beau for some time on GAX and I've decided....my suggestion for your podcasts new the title is:
The Tryptophan Hour with Beau and Leala Turkey
Yes..... tryptophan....the substance in turkey that makes you sleepy..... the only way this title could be made better is if you consistantly went over an hour. Thank you for the great cast!

Another great show you guys rock this cast together
The forum post types were spot on
anyway screw you I'm off to (not) play Warhammer :P
Before I go
City of heroes has always had a tutorial and then a choice of starting zone I thought.
Maybe wrong though ;)
I think the biggest draw to COH for me is the ease of grouping with the side-kicking/lackying etc so easy to play no matter what the level. I dont find the levelling grindy because its so easy to group and I have a fun group of people to play with. Endlessly creating characters will keep me happy for a long time, but soling that game would be a different story.
As for the graphics I agree but they do add new stuff and you have to admit the villains environments look great?
Did yo hear about the up and coming level pact? You can enter a pact with your friends and you share XP and all level together! Also the mission maker will mean the game never runs out of content, especially with a rating system attached. Good times!
'Yeh I heard bout the make-it-yourself-missions...' by Beauturkey Submitted on 2008-12-01 16:29:09 CST ...and agree with your other comments.
I have seen a few games do the make it yourself thing, Ryzom being one of the best. But, even then, it was not hard to figure out, but complicated enough to make you frustrated.
If they pull it off they will have a very easy to jump into system that is as fun as customizing your character. We'll see. I can't wait, myself.

'great show' by James Submitted on 2008-12-01 21:43:30 CST This podcast is great. I love your immersion experiments and your creative approach to playing within the MMORPG confines we're all used to. VoV was one of my favorite podcasts back when Troy was hosting it--but once my interest in Vanguard kind of fizzled, I didn't tune in as much. Man, am I glad I recently gave the show a listen!
Really one of the most entertaining, thought provoking podcasts out there. I like that you're not confined to one game and bring often ignored topics like roleplaying and immersion into your discussions.
Also, you bring a general positivity to your discussions that is SORELY lacking in the MMORPG community. That, coupled with the guest spots from your wife (I'm a big Epic Dolls fan, too) really make VoV shine! Keep up the great work!
