1) Shuttler gives us an intro. He likes apples? In grits?
2) Beau and Leala discuss a Ryzom thread that brought up the question: "Are developers transparent enough?" No, not see through. You know, like, do they communicate with their players?
3) The Couple of The Year talk a bit about beta's.
4) A little talk about what Beau and Leala have been playing (bad beta's, WoW, and too many games.)
Look! Beau didn't forget to link the music notes!! Here's the artist, a lady named Ingrid Michaelson. The song is called
"Corner of Your Heart." Good stuff. And yes, I KNOW that song was on that turd of a show called "Grey's Anatomy." Ok, I haven't seen it, but South Park made
fun of it, so like, I have to think it's totally bad, mmkay?
'MMO Breakfast?' by slashduel Submitted on 2009-04-22 07:11:06 CST Good show but at some points it gets hard to understand what you guys are talking about with all that background noise.
'Roger gold leader..' by Beauturkey Submitted on 2009-04-22 12:54:38 CST ..we talked about it in the show! lol
I LOVE recording this way because this is what we are all about, but in order for it to work we will have to tweak it over time. A lot of the time when you try this kind of thing you might turn more people off than on, but hey, that's how we roll G.
But yeh, the crowd was a lil extra rowdy that day. We are going to try and go later in the day next time, so that the crowds are much smaller.

'I like the new format' by Saylah Submitted on 2009-04-22 18:56:42 CST Sure, I can hear background noises and sometimes the waitress is loud taking orders near you. However, I think it fits the casual we're just a couple taking about our hobby theme of the podcast. I think it's another reason why you can go very casual with the production and it still works.
Van Hemlock is the same in my mind. I wouldn't think anything of it if they were recording in noisy pub every week. It dynamic of the hosts and the personal relationship allow for a very casual production podcast. Just my 2 cents.
'Ryzom' by CindyL Submitted on 2009-04-22 19:02:12 CST I'm not sure I even want to hear exuses about why the community still doesn't know much of anything about Ryzom's new owners, it's at the point where confidence is lost for a lot of people and most of those were not original customers but new ones. I was hoping for a better turn for this game but there's nothing to go on, except for decent patches (finally).
This game could have been so much more with a company with a bigger bank account... Very sad but I guess there's still time to see what will come. :/
'Well, interestingly enough..' by Beauturkey Submitted on 2009-04-22 19:03:24 CST ..we are recording just using the iPhone. It's a voice app called uhm...crap.
I forget off the top of my head. ANYWAY, the phone has really impressed us with it's ability to record voice. We might get a hand held recorder soon, being that those have become so cheap. My band-mates had one and I used it for the Fan Faire shows, and it did awesomely.
It's a work in progress, though! lol

'Kudos' by Klojamir Submitted on 2009-04-23 14:30:06 CST I absolutely love the beginning of this episode. I like how Shuttler's intro blended with the beginning of the episode. It reminded me of an NPR program called This American Life. Kudos guys I can't wait for the next episode.
'If you only knew how bad I wanted to do an Ira Glass intro..' by Beauturkey Submitted on 2009-04-23 14:50:57 CST ...so that's kind of what we want to go for with the show. Stories, recorded live-ish.
Now to just get our sound quality up to par with their show! hehe

But yeh, there are plenty of fan-fests out there, but in comparison to the sheer number of MMO's, SOE does a lot more of visiting with it's fans. Fan Faire, block party, and they also visit a ton of conventions.
Perhaps it's because they were so helpful to me, and responded to me pretty easily, that I feel this way..but it didn;t happen with magic..I just asked! hehe
