I can remember Ren and Starman from worldofwarcast podcast mentioning they were interviewed for that film & quickly appearing in it.

I have noticed the Blogs that Beau puts on that website, seem to attract a mature reply to them - no name calling etc.

What's funny about MMORPG.com is that when you delete a blog comment, it stays there for you to see.
So, I have some of the funniest and weirdest comments, and they are still there, just not visible to the public. Igive MMORPG.com a hard time, but they have some very mature and smart people visiting there. But, it's the same thing with an MMO: the owners allow the bad apples to ruin the good ones.
Why not just practice a LITTLE moderation you know what I mean? I got some of the worse comments ever on there! lol

A tree Shawn? WoW? O rly?
Well I call 'crock o' shit'.
I take serious issue with your statement that 'nothing with beat WoW', as it is so self evidently false.
I see the industry as not so much a tree, but more like music.
Each seems the 'end all be all' within each respective generation, but each is subject to generational changes. New technologies are developed, new ways of thinking come about, tastes migrate, things freaken change - often for the better.
You don't think this applies to WoW? or any MMO for that matter?
(insert bad name here) please!
WoW will die eventually. Not likely thru the development of any single MMO, but rather thou by age, and just being surpassed in technology.
As far as I can see, we are on our second generation of MMO's, and we are not terribly far from the next gen. I'd say in about 5-10 years we should expect another paradime shift.
But rather then polish, it's will be freedom (casualness), customization, and user generated content. (in a non-exploitable sense)
And to be even handed, I take some issue with BeauT as well.
I don't think RMT's are going to be the way of the future. An aspect, yeah, but I don't see them replacing subscriptions. Just because I don't think there is enough money in it.
I'd say it'll become more of a hybrid, with a cheaper, more flexible subscription like business model, in conjunction with RMT.
So yeah.....
I think you may have miffed me enough to make a blog post today. ^^
Oh joy.....

hehe
Well, we will see what the future brings as far as subscriptions. As far as not enough money being made...well, look it up. There is plenty money being made, and to be made.
What do you mean by sub-LIKE?
Either a game has a sub, and has RMT along with it, or it just has a sub, or is free with RMT. Plenty of the "mainstream" games out there already have some form of RMT within the game. The fact that RMT is not only becoming more common, but more accepted (limited edition special gifts anyone?) is due to the fact that it makes LOT'S of mula.
Anyway, thanks for the comments. :)

Hmmm, I guess I should spend some time going over the figures.
But part of the reason I don't like them is the impact they have on gameplay.
Like Runes of Magic for example, 10$ for a f****n horse? Screw that.
But it really feels that their always holding back on you, forcing your hand sort of, trying to get money outta you. (understandably of course, they are a business)
And it's that way of running things..... it just irks me the wrong way.
It just makes the games...... dull.
And by sub-LIKE, I mean like Aion's P2P system, where you buy time in smaller chunks, rather than one whole whoppin month at a time.
This allows the players to manage their time and money, and suffer no drawback should they decide to put the game down abruptly for a little bit.
Almost got me to take a look at it...... until I remembered how vanilla it was.
This with a truly MICRO transaction system could indeed work very well in future MMO's.

Yoh, maybe you could apply these arguments to Global Agenda for me. I am having a hard time convincing people at their forums that if they ask for a subscription the game is gonna be a big fail.

Well, I don't pretend to be an expert on GA, but I suppose I can take a crack at it.
First, these people don't know what their talking about, and I have doubts you could ever convince them of anything. (because their ignorant)
Second, the business model won't make or break any game, (although overall cost may) instead it's gameplay and core mechanics the do.
GA as far as I can tell, looks reasonably fun and is a pretty bitch that rose a eyebrow out of me even.
As for it's business model, it quite modern and forward thinking, so I give them kodos on that. While I'm not sold on initial box/download cost, as it makes the game a tad less accessible, that really shouldn't matter if the game is fun.
I doubt I'll play it, but that's because I'm not in FPS type of games. Not my style.
I think I might go over this specific kind of business model later today.
