'Great to have you back!' by Sheldrake Submitted on 2008-02-08 20:10:38 CST Nice to hear from you again. I was hoping this show had not podfaded because it had been a while since your last show. Your audio quality is very good and you even make the patch notes sound interesting :)
I recently returned to LOTRO (was in part of the beta and during launch last year) because of the great features I had been reading about in various blogs... the housing, and the upcoming cosmetic inventory (armor), etc... I thought to myself: why should I keep paying for WOW, being stuck at 70 with nothing to do as a non-raider when LOTRO has all of the things people are begging WOW to have. So I managed to get into a small and friendly kinship and I am leveling my Lore Master up to 50.
Thanks again for doing the podcast and keep up the good work.
In regards to the "Secrets of the Lord of Rings" podcast, it looks like it is presented by a "father" (Catholic priest?) and is linked to a Catholic media outlet. I will be listening to those episodes as well but I have to wonder how he can justify playing LOTRO or any other MMORPG for that matter? How can Christians justify playing games whose major mechanics are combat and death? Sometimes even playing as or allying with evil creatures such as demons? What would Jesus do indeed...

'Nice Show Sinaea' by Mirage Submitted on 2008-02-08 20:42:29 CST Well, once again, I enjoyed the show, and will probably check out the other one you suggested. I'm also psyched for Book 12, ((As I told you once while we were online)), and can't wait to get some sweet cosmetic stuff. As for recording something for the show, I'm gonna shoot you an e-mail about that, because, though I may be a noob, I think I may have something to contribute. As for Sheldrake's comment about the other podcast...
Combat + Religion = Crusades, and we all know that from history class. How can they justify telling you not to do things that incorporate combat after something like that. Hypocritical much?
Death doesn't happen for players in LOTRO. Remember, it's morale, so you don't die, you just lose the will to fight and retreat.
Sometimes you must ally with evil for a greater good. This is something that everyone knows, and should live by. And remember, keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.
See y'all in-game

'Fr. Roderick is a class guy' by Bman Submitted on 2008-02-09 14:49:03 CST I've not listened to his LotRO podcast, but I've listened to the Daily Breakfast off and on over the course of a couple years, and Father Roderick is by far one of my favorite podcasters. The only reason I don't still listen to DB is because most of what he talks about is pop-culture stuff that doesn't interest me. He's not one of those get-offended-by-everything religious zealot types who can't distinguish fiction from reality, so material like Harry Potter and LotR doesn't bother him.
