Welcome to yet another .5 episode. After a good deal of discussion the
FPG have realized that we still like having news in our shows, and so
they will stay in our normally numbered episodes. The .5's should from
now on be revolving around discussion topics covered by one or two of
us.
This time Joe takes the .5 baton as pennance for his absence in
several episodes, to talk to us about console MMOs (Yet for some reason
Riknas is still writing the show notes.)
------------------------------
At
the end we finally clarify the date of the FPG group night to be this
Friday (January 9th) at 9:30 PM EST, 8:30 PM CST, 7:30 PM MST, and 6:30
PM PST (Sorry that Joe said "5" PM PST). Sorry to the brits who have to
sign on during the brilliant time of 2AM. We'll have another time
directed towards you guys in the future!
For those looking for the game "Cronous" and are having trouble, check the following link;
http://cronous.aeriagames.com/. We are -not- playing Cronous by Neofun!
Skype information has also been confirmed, and we will have a
conference chat for all those able to use it. Please send a tell to
JoeH, Krigare2, or Sahnik00 for an invite to the skype chat!
Last, to contact us in-game, send a tell to "AndrasK" or "Riknas" on the Lapis server, chapter 1.
See you guys there!

Ok I got Skype working ok and added you guys to my list.
This is awesome, I never had my own account on Skype before.
And my nickname was available too, "FarSpace", I might of had to use FarOut FarSpace otherwise, but all is good to go :)

Well, I'm somewhat a long time listener, Started listening to your podcast around the end of November. There wasn't really much I could do for you guys untill now. In 9.5 I heard you guys need some way to have voice chat?
Well, I welcome you to DWSgaming a community I help manage, If you want, we could provide you with the ventrilo channel for what ever MMOs you need, private or public channel. We're a gaming community/Charity, and we're on the rise, we're just trying to get the word out right now.
So, if ya decide to give it a try, here's the info:
Hostname/IP: atlanta-ventrilo.nuclearfallout.net
Port number: 5530
If you would like a private channel, please speak me "Noriko" or "CIndows XP" any other admin would love to help you, but you'l get the biggest welcome from us.
We hope to see you on.

In the show notes you'll see that we have decided to work with Skype conferences for now. However if we should continue to have more community nights or even start an official FPGuild (I'm pretty sure our EVE Corp doesn't count) we'll definitely look into you guys, and I'm sure I can speak on behalf on all three of us when I say we appreciate the sentiment of actually letting us use your ventrilo channel!

Another option is Vivox's recently-released standalone client Voon. Same VOIP that EVE uses, as well as SOE's games but Voon is its own IM/VOIP-ish thing. Up to 75 people per room and for the non-techie out there, it doesn't have all the complicated setup and IP:PORT:PASSWORD hassles that Ventrilo/TeamSpeak do.
Not an EVE player so I don't know how Vivox's quality is, but Brent has talked them up several times and interviewed them on the VirginWorlds podcast so he must like them.

...are we all doing level one's? I haven't finished the show yet, so I was wondering. When I get home I will see if I can find out.
We should all start out level 1 and go from there?

Useful info on the console mmo perspective and these companies would be wise to listen to your observations.
About FF, I saw the "Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (2005)" movie and they were riding motorcycles and had guns and traditional Fantasy weapons too, cool story too, about An ex-mercenary forced out of isolation when three mysterious men kidnap and brainwash the city's children afflicted with the Geostigma disease. I'll play that game :) And ther's this kind of force that controls things and is an energy they use. It's hard to explain, here's a link: http://tinyurl.com/7vjuts my brother has it on DVD and I only got to see 1st 30min, so I'm going to borro it for sure. Wtching it on a websitr is ok for a few min but nothing like HD wide screen. :)

Great show mate , very funny style. It was clear when I heard this episode that Free to Play features more than one talented podcaster.
'Levels' by Riknas

Although we've tested the game on alts, the intention is that we all start fresh at level one, moving on from there as a massive steam rolling entity. Sort of.
@Token; But I'm your favorite, right?
