'Star Wars Galaxies or EvE??' by Edward78 Submitted on 2008-01-21 12:41:22 CST Ok so I wondered about SWG when it came out, but didn't get it. Not sure about the PvP, from what I heard about it seems alright city destruction & PvP with loot. I Have the trial now, plenty of patch I see it says it will almost 12 hours. Anyway, then there is EvE, seems to have everything accept fun in my opinion. With SWG every bitches about the Pre-CU era being better, ok it might be, but I want to know about now.

'This was a great show!' by Akely Submitted on 2008-01-21 19:03:34 CST I really liked this show! Good sound, smart people with excellent points and thinking. It mattered none at all that I did not find any of the topics more than mildly interesting. Kudos, one and all.
'Great Show!' by Marchosias Submitted on 2008-01-22 15:00:28 CST Found these pod-casts a few episodes ago - keep up the great work! I particularly found the Fantasy portion interesting as I had a "work-in-progress" article about this topic for my own blog, which has since been posted. Thanks again!

'mostly fantasy' by Burro Submitted on 2008-01-24 20:48:54 CST i think fantasy games are better for game mechanics because melee makes more sense in fantasy and melee is cool, I'd rather wield a cool sword then a giant gun. Also spell effects are cool. When you get a game like eve however where the game mechanics are completely different then you have a reason to break away from fantasy. The click a toolbar and level up game seems to go hand in hand with fantasy, having different melee moves and a library of spells. Yeah sure eve has a toolbar but it's 24 buttons max, and the strategy in eve is gettin the right 24 buttons before you leave the station, Positioning of fleets, managing your orbit distance, proficiency with the scanner type stuff. Warcraft is all about click the right buttons at the proper time in the proper sequence but you can occasionally kite stuff and run out of AOE. Toolbar = fantasy, toolbar = moderatly successful mmo.
