Do you like opinions on new releases? Reviews of hot games? Perfect. Ludwig, Xav, Anthony, and Earnest are hitting a trio of February bangers-- The Last of Us: Left Behind, Strider, and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. Also on the slate this week: roleplaying as CEO of Capcom, and the weird and wonderful world of "crowdplaying" Pokemon on Twitch.

Are you on track to complete your Four in February? If not, get to playin', partner, because we're plowing through our lists.

This week's Super Joystiq Podcast only accepts greeting cards that play a song when you open them.

Is there really any better way to start a Valentine's Day gaming podcast than with an in-depth discussion on greeting cards? This week, Ludwig, Susan, and Anthony talk mostly games, some Nintendo, and dare to cover the ever-controversial topic of tissue paper-lined holiday greeting cards. We know it can be a heated topic, so if you do feel the need to discuss greeting cards in the comments, just make sure to keep it as civil as possible, and strive to listen to others' point of view. We don't want a repeat of the great 2001 greeting card comment war.*

Oh right, games! The show is packed with games too! Susan shares her thoughts on Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc's inability to commit, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII gets flowers AND candy, and Ludwig spills some details of a recent date with Infamous: Second Son. Nintendo made some news this week with its latest Nintendo Direct, and there seems have been some questionable choices made surrounding the approach to free-to-play-- we may be in need of a serious talk about this relationship.

Happy Valentine's Day, lovebirds!

It's that magical time of year again where we get some direct insight into the minds of game creators. Alexander and Susan are at the DICE Summit this week, and are joined in the first Super Joystiq Podcast special by indie darlings Davey Wreden (The Stanley Parable), Steve Gaynor (Gone Home), and Rami Ismail (Nuclear Throne).

As is tradition in these DICE shows, the range of topics is wide, and always interesting. Listen-in to hear how Wreden and Gaynor have dealt with The Stanley Parable and Gone Home being called non-games, the difficulty of dealing with the business of a game post-launch, how Rami upset a number of big business types with a bit of contract outmaneuvering, and more.

This week's Super Joystiq Podcast is an award winning audio show masquerading as a podcast.

Games: new, revamped, and rebooted. This week, Ludwig, Richard, Alexander, and Anthony kick things off with the age-old plight of an octopus just trying to get by as a regular, suburban dad in Octodad. Lara Croft is back for an encore performance in Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and Luddy shares some early thoughts on Garret's return in Eidos's Thief reboot.

In news, Nintendo took some time earlier this week to vaguely outline its plans for the future, and the crew has some thoughts on what the big N had to say.

This week's Super Joystiq Podcast wants to be alone with technology.

It's a pretty fine week for the podcast- some might even call it double fine. Ludwig, Susan, Richard, and Anthony convene to talk about a couple of smaller games, and a couple of bigger ones. On deck: Don't Starve, Risk of Rain, Super Mario 3D World, and Broken Age. The crew also discusses their all-time favorite platformers.

And if that's not enough, we have something very special this week: an interview with the adventure game legend, Double Fine's Tim Schafer. Ludwig and Schafer sit down to talk Broken Age, modern game development, and the return to classic adventure games.

This week's Super Joystiq Podcast supports pause and resume in the background. Really, try it!

Are you ready for the last show in a pre-next-gen world? Or perhaps a slew of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One impressions? Ludwig, Xav, and Dave are back again to talk all the next-gens. Launch lineups, hardware and user interface impressions, Forza 5, Dead Rising 3, Ryse: Son of Rome, and more are on the slate this week. Xav even manages to squeeze-in his thoughts, and lament his disappointments, with Call of Duty: Ghosts.

So, enjoy the world as it is for one more week. T-minus seven days and counting to the PS4.

This week's Super Joystiq Podcast can't wait for Ludwig's debut at the Chuckle Hut[TM].

It's officially big release season. Ludwig, Xav, and Dave are here to discuss Battlefield 4, Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, and Batman: Arkham Origins-- and the first two can't be discussed without covering the soon-to-hit next-generation versions. The guys also hit some of the bigger pieces of news from the week, and deliver some sage holiday buying advice in this week's mailbag.

The Joyswag streak continues this week as well with copies of Assassin's Creed 4, Batman: Arkham Origins, and a bundle of Skylanders figures up for grabs.
