Star Wars: The Old Republic

I keep bouncing back and forth between hoping this game will be good, and "oh man this game is going to fail spectacularly." I hope to god it doesn't, not just because I really want to play it (light sabers are cool >< ), but more because the market needs it to succeed. Somebody needs to prove that WoW isn't just a fluke, and it happened because it happened to be an awesome game that did a lot of things right.

Some folks are worried that (and based on leaked beta reports) that the game is...

Ladies and gentlemen of the Broken LP Forum, this day has been long in coming.

Nobody knows exactly when the resident fujoshi started shipping Ozzo and JohnStargazer. I have a hunch that it all started during that LP That Shall Not Be Named because I abandoned it, but I can't really be sure. Or maybe it was during a certain LP about dancing princesses. (EDIT: It was started by PARAdoxial during Ozzo's Don't Take It Personally LP....

Voltage Inc. and their more unfortunate Westernized counterpart Voltage USA do a pretty brisk business over in the Let's Play forum, so I thought it might be time to establish a catch-all discussion thread for their cellphone app otome games.

Mostly because I've just discovered this:

Arrow (Mostly the CW Show)

...Though I guess that if something major happens to Green Arrow in another medium it would go here as well.

So, rather than cluttering up the general thread with recurring Arrow discussions, I figured I'd move this here.

For those who pay no attention to the general thread, the basics:
  • Arrow is a show on The CW Network that is new starting in the Fall 2012 television season
  • Arrow is a street-level, depowered superhero show about the Green Arrow
  • The Green Arrow's pitch is,...

Almost Human

I sorta felt this deserved its own thread after having finished the 2nd episode, so here we go.

Karl Urban plays Karl Urban. It's definitely a cop show, but the android stuff steps things up a level. Michael Ealy does a really great job with Dorian, and the guy who plays the MX series (Joe Smith... heh, the most generic and prolific android series in the show is played by one Joe Motherf'in Smith. Ok, that's kinda funny) definitely deserves some credit. You see his model probably a couple...

His only crime was being born delicious! - Mystery Science Theater 3000 at 25

Indisputably the greatest show of all time, Mystery Science Theater 3000 turns 25 exactly today. I'd love to share the two episodes that launched the series but alas, they've been lost to time (and local television men's vaults).

In honor of the occasion, Shout! Factory and Joel are bringing back the Thanksgiving marathons, curated by fans,...

Alfonso Cuaron's "Gravity" starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney

And apparently no one else. James Cameron loves it, but he likes a lot of dumb things so who knows. I've had a soft spot for Bullock since Demolition Man (what) and so I welcome her finally getting a shot at a real movie.

Socialism in Seattle
Posted by Broken Forum [HTML][XML][PERM][FULL] on 29 November 2013, 2:24 pm
This election cycle, the voters of Seattle have elected self-described Marxist Kshama Sawant to one of the nine City Council seats. The election itself was a remarkable story, with Sawant running to the left of the incumbent Democratic candidate, Richard Conlin, primarily on the platform of a city-wide $15.00 per hour minimum wage. It isn't required to declare party affiliation when running for Seattle City Council, but Sawant nevertheless declared herself as representing the Socialist...

I'd like to create a thread covering Europe news.

My posts will have a German-tinted point of view, and I would like to invite other people having an interest to contribute and share their respective opinions.
I'll try to keep the thread updated with relevant/interesting news and maybe we can bring some enlightenment to the New World... :P

Hey guys, and welcome to this truly horrible game! Ladies and gentlemen , here's Secret Flirts!
Let me explain : the graphics are shit , the concept is horrible and all my hate goes to the people who made this game.
I wanted to show you this game because of his message : to be happy in life , you have to be beautiful or else you will just be a part of the crowd .
I'll try to not take this game seriously because if you take is seriously , you will just...

Pardon my lameness for not having the prologue saved because when I first downloaded this game I had no real intention of LPing it. But then this guy's route appeared and I'm like, YES I WANT LP. Because... well, take a look at the prologue first. Some kind soul has it recorded and posted on Youtube:

This guy is shamelessly skeevy and the game isn't even pretending that he...

Hi everyone, I'm bored out of my mind, so what's best to do than to start a new let's play?
I decided to try Nachtigal, since Auro talked about it a while ago , it's been siting on my computer untouched since then, and Yay vampires!

It's my second LP, I still don't know what I'm doing really. Playing totally blind this time. I'll try to be funny or at least interesting enough, and I hope I won't fail miserably. (Why am I starting this now when I'm kinda sleepy, I don't know....

Let's hope those vampires are not the horrible abusive type - Let's Play Nachtigal

It's 2 PM, and you really should be working, but it's a slow day, and your lunch break seems so long ago, and really, it couldn't hurt too much to check a few of your favorite forums while the boss's back is turned. And check the local news. And maybe play a few flash games. And what about that slow moving loris video that has been filling up your dash?

Good news everyone,

OMSI 2 will grace us before Christmas, around December 12th it seems. Hurray!

The Omnibussimulator 2 is essentially a heavily expanded version of the first part, featuring a lot of new options. Since apparently the webpage hasn't been translated yet, let me help:

  • The articulated bus MANNG272 with exact physical and graphical simulation of the articulated joint kinetics, including sounds and systems (bend protection)....

Project Zomboid

So I recently picked up Project Zomboid on Steam Early Access despite my deep skepticism of the Early Access model. What won me over was the demo which, despite being very short and a bit shallow, really demonstrates some thoughtful design and potential.

I did some searching and didn't come up with one so I figured I'd start one as I just recently picked up an XL. Any suggestions for 3DS or even DSiWare games that are great? So far, I've been playing Pushmo (fantastic) and Gunman Clive (totally worth $2).

I never enjoyed this as much as Fallout 3 and didn't get very far. I've decided to try it again, but I'm wondering whether I should bother with any of the DLC. I don't recall any getting a particularly positive reception.

Playing Bad
Posted by Broken Forum [HTML][XML][PERM][FULL] on 29 November 2013, 3:48 pm
I have pretty much played every game I have ever played as lawful neutral or lawful good. I can't seem to be the bad guy. Well, I am replaying Fallout 3 and have wondered a few times what would happen if I played the bad guy instead of the Wasteland Hero.

What is a good game to play the bad guy? A game where it actually makes a difference to play bad instead of good.
