I tried EVE Online few years ago (14 day trial) and it has a step learning curve (more like a cliff) and did not hook me at the start. One co-worker started a few months ago (he is an Everquest 2 player so we talk MMOs alot) and is now hooked on EVE.

Talking with him and he told me about the new player tutorials, areas where you are not an immediate PvP target, and some of the different mission and jobs he was doing that was not direct PvP (hacking and research). So having someone to talk the game over with and hearing of the new player changes I ask him to send me a 21 day trial.

With my return to LOTRO not being a success could not hurt to try 20 days free in EvE Online.

Well see if it hooks me .. at least until STO?
